1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers Plato websites, mobile apps, business software, demo and sales workflows, and support communications.
Restaurants and other business customers may use Plato to process information about their staff, guests, suppliers, or contacts. In those cases, the business customer controls that information and Plato processes it on the customer’s instructions. Please contact that business first if your request concerns data it entered into Plato.
2. Data we collect
- Account and identity data, such as your name, work email, phone number, company, role, sign-in codes, and account status.
- Restaurant and business data, such as venue, menu, order, inventory, finance, workforce, supplier, customer-relationship, sales-pipeline, task, schedule, note, and contact records that you or your organisation enter into Plato.
- Website and enquiry data, including walkthrough-request details, messages, restaurant name, number of locations, and communication preferences.
- Device and usage data, such as IP address, browser or device type, app version, language, operating system, diagnostics, crash information, feature interactions, and security events.
- Location, camera, photo, and contact data only when you use a feature that needs it and grant the relevant device permission. For example, a field-sales workflow may use location, a receipt or menu workflow may use a photo, and a contact workflow may import or save a person you select.
- Support and communications data, including emails, feedback, call notes, and other information you send us.
3. Where data comes from
We receive data directly from you, from the organisation that provides your Plato account, from the device and browser you use, and from integrations that you or your organisation connect to Plato.
4. How we use data
Depending on the context and applicable law, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, or compliance with a legal obligation.
- Provide and operate Plato, authenticate users, sync records, and deliver requested features.
- Administer accounts, permissions, billing, customer support, and service communications.
- Protect Plato, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, and keep our systems reliable.
- Understand product performance, fix errors, and improve workflows and user experience.
- Respond to enquiries, arrange walkthroughs, and send marketing where permitted. You can opt out at any time.
- Comply with law, enforce agreements, and establish or defend legal claims.
6. International processing
Plato and its service providers may process data in Egypt and other countries. Where required, we use contractual and organisational safeguards designed to protect data transferred across borders.
7. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the services, maintain business and security records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention depends on the type of data and why it was collected. Data may remain in protected backups for a limited rolling period before deletion.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, authentication, encrypted network connections, monitoring, and restricted staff access. No system is completely secure, so please protect your account and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
9. Your choices and rights
Send requests to hello@plato.eg. We may need to verify your identity. If your data is controlled by a restaurant or other Plato customer, we may direct the request to that organisation.
- You can change camera, photo, contacts, notification, and location permissions in your device settings.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in a message or by contacting us. Service messages may still be necessary for an active account.
- Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, or request a portable copy.
11. Children
Plato is a business service and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through our services.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Plato or applicable law changes. We will post the revised version here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required.
